Moon Calendar Poster

moon calendar

At first glance, our lunar calendar poster can seem overwhelming but it is actually very easy to understand.
The months go round anti clockwise and then the day and dates are next to these and then the relevant moon phase.
On the outside of the wheel. the new and full Moons are highlighted as well as in a list at the bottom of the poster.

The key shown here is a basic description of how to use the calendar to find out when new and full Moons occur as well as eclipses, sign changes and the sign the Sun occupies. This key is shown on the bottom of the calendar itself for easy reference.

Compare the key (below) on the left with the text to the right, then take a more indepth look at how the calendar works by rolling your mouse over parts of the diagram below.

All times are GMT (Universal Time) and BST - all sunrise/set and moonrise/set times are given for London (UK).

  • The calendar is read round anti-clockwise from the 1st of the month.
  • Each day has it’s relevant Moon phase.
  • The sign the Moon occupies is shown by reference to the astrological wheel.
  • The times the Moon changes sign is shown in the inner ring against the astrological wheel. The separating spokes correspond approximately with the time of day the change takes place. For example, on the 2nd, the Moon is in Sagittarius and moves into Capricorn at 10.59.
  • From the 28th of the month, there is an overlap due to the Moon’s cycle being different to the days of the month we work with. The time the Moon changes sign is then shown in white in the days of the overlap.
  • The phases of the Moon are clearly shown around the outside of the astrological wheel.
  • The time of the planetary sign changes are shown on the day they take place along with Retrograde and Direct movements of planets.
    R - retrograde D - direct.
  • Full, new, first and last quarter Moon times are listed on the top right hand corner. The sign the Moon occupies at this time along with the degree and minute of the sign are shown. For example, the full Moon is on the 28th at 00:07 at 6 degrees and 32 minutes of Sagittarius.
  • The constellation of the main Sun sign of the month is shown next to the sign glyph on the top half of the calendar.
  • All of the planetary movements for the month are shown in the top left corner and planetary aspects are shown in the bottom corners.
