New Moon 14th April 13:28 BST
Sun at 24°
27' Aries
Moon at 24° 27' Aries
Spring
is here. The Earth is starting to wear her green
gown once more. The days are longer, the blossom
of the blackthorn is out and the hawthorn is bearing
fresh green leaves. The birds are making their nests
and the April showers are upon us. There have been
some fantastic rainbows to be seen.
Here in Herefordshire the fields are full of lambs
and calves. I knew lambs could jump but what has surprised
me is how high sheep can jump. They get so excited
when the farmer comes to feed them that they start
jumping all over the place.
The Night Sky
Venus is so bright in the west after sunset and Mercury
is very close by, although to present date I haven’t
seen Mercury. Hopefully, a few days after the next
new Moon we will get an opportunity to view these two
inner planets close to the Moon. Mercury is often obscured
by the Sun’s radiance and this will be one of those
precious moments when we will hopefully sight this
tiny twinkling planet.
Mars and Saturn are still our companions of the evening
skies. I have really enjoyed seeing Mars and watching
its dance with the constellation of Leo.
The New Moon chart
The Sun and Moon are together in Aries, making no aspect
to any other planets except sextiling the on-going
conjunction of Neptune and Chiron. Aries is the pioneering
sign of the zodiac, being competitive, daring, impulsive,
and initiating. Its urge is to take action. This is
the Moon of self-assertion. Aries people often have
the tendency to rush into places where others fear
to go. Patience is not high on their list of priorities
Due to being a cardinal sign; their spurt of energy
can be short lived. The quality of this period is very
youthful and delicate. During the new Moon phase it’s
a good time to look at how we assert ourselves.
With the Sun and Moon being in the 9th house of the
chart, sextile Neptune and Chiron in the 7th, there
could be confusion about the laws that are being passed
and how they are going to affect us. There could also
be issues around our dealing with people from different
countries. Things are not as clear as they seem.
The election is looming and we will be bombarded by
various different advertising campaigns. Glamorous
advertising is one way of creating a smoke screen.
The word “campaign” has many different meanings, although
the main objective seems to be to achieve a specific
goal. The intent is to persuade voters to vote for
a particular politician or party. A campaign can also
be a series of military or terrorist operations taking
place in one area over a particular period, intended
to achieve a specific objective. For me the meaning
of a campaign is to raise peoples’ awareness of something.
The Moon’s ruler Cancer, rules the 12th house of the
chart. This is the house of endings, hidden enemies,
hospitals and jails. I wonder if the public are really
aware of what is going on in our hospitals and jails?
People are imprisoned without even getting a trial.
In 1834 it was suspected by mathematicians, that due
to the erratic orbit of Uranus, there was another planet
orbiting the sun. Twelve years later Neptune was discovered
at 26 degrees of Aquarius. In April 2009 it reached
this degree and transits this point until early January
2011. Neptune is the planet that is associated with
deception, glamour and illusion. The higher vibration
of Neptune is creativity, compassion, spirituality
and social consciousness. How wonderful would it be
to have a government that took the people into account?
I have been giving a lot of thought to Pluto in Capricorn
and it is certainly having a hayday with the establishment.
Where ever there is corruption, Pluto will reveal it.
First we had the banks, then the MPs expenses scandal
and now the Catholic Church is in its firing line..
By the time Pluto is finished with Capricorn in about
15 years, the established bodies of authority will
have been completely transformed.
Saturn moved back into Virgo on the 7th of April and
is applying to its fourth opposition with Uranus on
the 26th April. These two planets have been in merry
dace with each other since November 2008. As Tchenka
writes in Astro Calendar April 2010, “the tension between
the old and the new, orthodoxy and innovation, restraint
and freedom is peaking once more.” The Conservative
posters are saying it is time for change but is their
change the change that is needed by the British people?
Mercury Retrograde
Mercury goes retrograde on the 18th April and turns
direct on the 11th May. So the planet of communication
will be going over old ground during the time of the
elections.
When Mercury is retrograde, it’s a time of reflective
thought. Things to expect are delays with communication,
letters going missing or problems with computers. Allow
extra time for all your journeys, as Mercury is known
as the trickster.
Taurus Full Moon 28th April 2010
The Luminaries are at the same degree of Taurus and
Scorpio, which are opposite signs in the zodiac. A
time of completion is upon us. The pull of the Moon
is at its greatest. Emotions can be overwhelming and
past issues can surface to be resolved. Allow things
to be revealed that have been hidden. There is a very
powerful T-square happening in the fixed signs between
the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars, indicating that there
could be quite explosive communications, because of
a tendency to get very fixed on one point of view.
Remember that things change; nothing stays the same
forever. Connect with nature. Bathe in the light of
the full Moon. Bless this as a time of objectivity
and clear consciousness.
I leave you with a quote. “Even the merest
gesture is holy if it is filled with faith.”
Franz Kafka. Czech writer.
Blessing of this time to you all. Linda Day. |
