New Moon

Sun at 5˚ 55 ' Scorpio
Moon at 5˚ 55 ' Scorpio
Autumn is the most beautiful time of year. The colours
are fantastic. The reds, oranges yellows, browns and the many different
shades of green are but a few to be seen. The fields are being ploughed,
revealing the different shades of the bare earth. To experience a shower
of falling leaves is one of nature’s gifts, and if you’re lucky enough
to catch a falling oak leaf, don’t forget to make a wish. How blessed
are we to be living on this amazing planet.
The night sky
The night skies have been clear and at last l have seen Venus setting
in the southwest. How beautiful it is to see this planet again. Jupiter
will be with us for a while longer and in December, hopefully we
will be able to see the Venus/ Jupiter conjunction in Capricorn.
Another thing l have notice is the amazing colors of the sunsets
and how they have reflected the beautiful colours of this time of
year. It reminds me that the most precious gifts come for free. We
only need to be able to experience them.
This time of year
As l write this, l am aware that British summer time is coming to an
end. The clocks will be going back and next week at the time of the
new Moon, people will be returning home in the dark. We are approaching
the halfway point between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.
The cross quarter days, as they are known, are the times when nature
responds to the energy changes that came into motion at the solstices
and equinoxes and are very visible in the seasonal changes. The Sun
has moved into Scorpio and the period of Samhain is nearly upon us.
This is the time of year when in many countries through out the world,
people will be remembering their dead and reconnecting with their
ancestors I myself take a moment while l write this to
remember my dear friend Suze da Blooze, who departed just over 12
months ago and is sadly missed. The only thing that is constant in
life is change. Nature reflects our own life cycle of birth, growth,
deterioration and death. A very Scorpionic statement indeed!!!!!!!!!!!
The Chart of the new Moon
This is the Scorpio new Moon and the Sun and Moon are together in the
fourth house. The luminaries, as they are known; do not make any
aspects to any of the other personal planets, although they are both
applying to a conjunction with Mars.
Scorpio is the sign of intensity and hidden secrets. Most people become
very guarded when in the presence of a scorpion. Is this because they
fear the depth of their own emotions and become aware of the things
that they are hiding from themselves? Scorpio has the ability to go
to the depths of any given situation. Yes, they can be very spiky but
they also have a very accepting side to them.
It is also the sign that rules other peoples’ money and banks. I cannot
help but feel that there is still more turmoil to come in the financial
crisis that is affecting the whole world. I have lots of questions
going around in my head. Ok, the government has invested a lot of money
into the banking system but where has that money come from? And what
does it mean when a bank’s financial system has collapsed? I feel outraged
when I learn from the media how much the men who run the banks are
being paid. I myself will never earn as much in my whole lifetime!!
Pluto, ruler of the hidden resources of the earth, is
the modern ruler of Scorpio and sits in the last degrees of Sagittarius
and it is well known that Sagittarius has a tendency to go too far!
Somewhere along the line, I feel this is the real issue that we should
be looking at. Have we become too greedy and forgotten that we have
to give something back in return for what we have received?
I have noticed that there is a real price war going on
in the major supermarkets here. Even though Christmas is looming, people
are not spending in the way that they have done in the past. I get
the sense from how the planets are lining up that people will be tightening
their belts and only be spending money on what they really need.
In this chart the opposition of Saturn and Uranus divides
the wheel neatly into two halves. The opposition becomes exact for
the first time on November the 4th. This date as we all know is that
of the American election and this also makes me wonder if the Americans
use astrology in their major decision-making? I am fascinated by how
the rest of the planets are all situated on one side of the wheel,
kept in place behind the wall of this opposition. Even the Moon only
comes out from behind this wall for two weeks of its cycle. The Saturn/Uranus
aspect reflects a real struggle between what has been tried and tested
[Saturn] and the potential of new possibilities [Uranus]. It generates
a feeling of being pulled in two directions at once and this must be
the dominating feeling of the month. Venus is in an applying square
to both Saturn and Uranus – and Venus rules money and the finer things
of life. This is what backs up my feeling that we haven’t seen the
end of “the credit crunch”, as the powers-that-be call it.
In the full Moon chart of the 13th of November, the Moon
is free of the constraints of the Saturn/Uranus opposition. She sits
in Venus ruled Taurus whilst Venus itself forms an intense conjunction
with transformative Pluto. As I have said, Venus is the planet that
rules money and the chart suggests we may now have the chance to transform
our relationship with the stuff!
There is so much going on in
the heavens at this moment in time and during the up and coming months,
that I know I have only just touched on the surface of what is happening.
I leave you with a quote “British management doesn’t seem to understand
the importance of the human factor.” Prince Charles [Sun in Scorpio]
Blessings of the new and full Moon to you all. Linda
Day.
