Full Moon
5th December 0.24am GMT
Sun 12˚ 48' Sagittarius
Moon 12˚ 48' Sagittarius
The Sunrises have been amazing, the sky was really red the other morning
and I thought of the old saying, ‘red sky in the morning – shepherds
warning’ and true enough we had very strong winds, apparently in Scotland
the had 70mph gusts.
The oak is still holding on to its
leaves, nearly all the other trees are bare. I love this time
of year – the Earth reveals itself and how much of the landscape
you can see!
When I first looked at the full Moon
chart I felt like there was something happening that we weren’t being
told about. Mercury features
very strongly. We set the charts for London giving us the Virgo
ascendant and Mercury being the chart ruler. Mercury is square
Saturn. Mercury went retrograde squaring Saturn, colouring its
retrograde period and on Monday the 4th of December Mercury turns once
again to 24˚ Scorpio. Mercury is in the third house and Saturn
is in the 11th. There are two T squares – Sun in Sagittarius
opposite Moon in Gemini square Uranus in Pisces and Saturn in Leo opposite
Neptune in Aquarius square Mercury in Scorpio. Mars sits on the
Mercury Jupiter mid-point and the full Moon is across the Gemini Sagittarius
axis. The mutable T square Sun opposition Moon square Uranus
shows lots of unpredictable energy especially around communications. I
think Uranus asks us to be true to ourselves. Ebertin in COSY
(Combination of Stellar Influences) says ‘Mercury Jupiter is connected
to businessmen, scientists and orators’ and he says ‘it can bring either
success and give the gift of speech or failure through dishonesty. Mars
equals Mercury Jupiter that action needs to be guided by commonsense.’
As I look at this chart and ask what
is really going on, I am told by two of my friends on separate occasions
about the Russian agent Alexander Litvinenko, who fell ill on the
first of November, four days after Mercury went retrograde and has
since died – his inquest revealing he had swallowed a lethal quantity
of polonium 210, which is a nuclear material – Mercury in Scorpio. On the 30th of November the Independent
reported three BA aircraft being grounded in connection with the above
incident. On the same day the Independent also ran an article about
overcrowding in prisons called ‘Absurd. Broken. Chaotic.’ Saying
the system is in meltdown after Tony Blair’s decade of failure on crime
and punishment. One of the other headings used was ‘a justice
system in shambles after too much meddling by ministers.’ Reflecting
the Sun, Moon, Uranus T square and also the Saturn, Neptune, Mercury
T square.
Also, in the same paper was an article
on an ancient Greek artifact. Scientists
have studied the internal workings by using a sophisticated scanner,
revealing it to be an astronomical computer a thousand years ahead
of its time. The antikythera mechanism was rescued form a Roman
ship-wreck at the turn of the last century, but its precise function
was little understood because it was broken into eighty two pieces. Scientists
were surprised to find that it acted as a long-term calendar for predicting
Lunar and Solar eclipses and planetary movements. Professor Mike
Edmunds says ‘this device is just extraordinary, the only thing of
its kind. The design is beautiful, the astronomy is exactly right
raising the question of what else were they making at the time’. The
article goes on to say ‘ calendars were important to ancient societies
for timing agricultural activities and fixing religious festivals’. In
the article they say ‘the artifact had been submerged for two thousand
years and dates to around 100BC and 150BC possible being made by the
great Greek astronomer Hipparchos’. I think, Mercury Saturn reflects
the information of the past and given time all will be revealed. There
is so much happening its hard to know where to finish. So I leave
you with a quote.
‘The sky is a compelling presence,
a place for scientific explanation, a symbol of the infinite, a source
of secrets yet to come. From
the dawn of history, people have looked up at the sky, seeking there
the answers to their questions’. The Sky Order and Chaos – Jean
Pierre Verder.
Blessing of the full Moon to you all
Linda Day Mercury in Sagittarius at 12. And ho to Tina and
Ceri for their beautiful calendars!
